Episode 8, Rise of the Omni Grove is live!
I’m incredibly happy to have this latest episode “Rise of the Omni Grove” done and in the wild.
This episode marks the launching off point of a new direction for this story. I’ve decided to update the format of the story from a vertically scrolling webcomic to a horizontally scrolling web comic. I’m also planning on increasing the page height so that it reflects the industry standard page size for U.S comics.
I’m making these changes with the idea, that maybe one day I’d like to publish printed versions of this story.
The plan is to update the title as well to reflect a broader direction in the story.
I’ve always intended for Negative Boy to be an episodic adventure story. I think ep8 Rise of the Omni Grove sets up the world I’d like Edwin, Dee and Robot-guy to explore. I’m really looking forward to digging into this new world, I have many ideas percolating in my fevered brain.
I’ve learned a ton from taking on this project, Negative Boy has been with me for a long time and publishing these episodes has been a both a joy and a challenge. I’m looking forward to applying everything I learned producing these 8 episodes to this new format and story direction.
Like all indie creators, I have to balance making a living and working on my story. Honestly I’m limited by the personal time and energy it takes to build this story. I’m not getting any younger so I want go as far as I can with this story while I’m still vertical. Honestly this is one of the few fulfilling things I do. So it keeps me in the fight working with these characters.
Anyway, enough of my babbling on! Head over to Global Comix and read the latest installment of The Continuing Adventures of Negative Boy!
